Gambler’s Fallacy and why not to show opponents AA or KK

Continuing to talk about the Gambler’s Fallacy, and how it relates to poker. In this case, players are (mistakenly) less likely to give you credit for a big starting hand if you’ve recently shown AA or KK, so I don’t like to show these cards if I can help it.

Creating a loose, careless image in no-limit

You should present a carefree, aggressive, loose image in no-limit. While many people know this intellectually, I don’t think many people fully apply this to their own game and image. I see too many otherwise-decent players showing tough folds, talking about their strategy, and doing other things that make them easier to play against.

Importance of a tight image in fixed limit hold’em

Some thoughts on the importance of being perceived as “tight” and “solid” in a limit game. Even though it seems obvious, it’s something that it’s taken me years to fully understand and realize and absorb in a meaningful way.
