Jamie Gold, lies, and ambiguous statements

Thoughts on lying, and how I think poker players don’t lie as often as people think, at least not while a hand is happening. Tricky players are more likely to use verbal misdirection and ambiguous statements to deceive their opponents, instead of directly lying. As an example of this, I talk about a hand on Poker After Dark where Jamie Gold deceives Alan Boston by telling him “I’ve got King high” when he’s holding pocket Kings. He’s technically telling the truth, but in a very misleading way.
