Posted on December 10, 2013 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

I saw this PokerNews story where Kristy Arnett interviewed Jason Lavallee, the winner of this year's PokerStars European Poker Tour London High Roller, about a Queen high call-down he made on the final table of that tournament. Here's the story: http://www.pokernews.com/strategy/strategy-with-kristy-jason-lavallee-discusses-a-queen-high-c-16743.htm ...

More poker tells in Rounders (besides KGB’s Oreo)

Posted on May 9, 2012 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

Hi, I'm Zach Elwood, the author of the book Verbal Poker Tells (amongst other poker tells projects). This is my blog.  My email acquaintance Michael Blinder recently wrote to point out something very awesome in the movie Rounders. Both Teddy KGB and Mike McDermott (Matt Damon’s character) exhibit a few poker tells besides the infamous Oreo cookie one. Both of them exhibit a kind of poker tell I ...

End of online poker for Americans?

Posted on April 15, 2011 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

Shit has officially hit the fan for American online poker players. The screenshot to the left shows the message I get when I try to sit down at a real money table on Pokerstars today. Here's a link to a short article about Pokerstars, Full Tilt, and Absolute getting their domain names seized and being charged with bank fraud. Here's a link to the TwoPlusTwo thread about 'Black Friday' information. ...

Beginner thoughts on heads-up Hold’em online

Posted on October 3, 2010 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

I played my first real heads-up no-limit cash games yesterday. I've played heads-up in tournament situations before but I've never played a pure heads-up game. I've been hearing so much about all the heads-up nosebleed action through Twoplustwo (Isildur, Durrrr, Jungleman, PA, and all those guys) that I got a little intrigued. I felt that working on heads-up would definitely improve my game. ...

Beginner thoughts on playing pot-limit Omaha 8 online

Posted on July 4, 2010 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

I decided not to play that $200 PLO8 tournament last week because I felt like I would have been pretty dead money. I'm really rusty at the game and have only played a little actual pot-limit; most of my experience with high-low has just been limit. I've played a decent amount of Omaha High for $5-10 blinds, but it was live. After going on PokerStars and playing in a low-limit .50-1.00 6-max cash ...

Reviews/Testimonials

"I'm constantly impressed with how the info from your books has provided me value time and time again at the poker table. I started playing poker professionally last summer, and I can say that your books have easily added a solid $10/hour to my winrate, if not more. Thanks for all the hard work you've put into your material."

“Interestingly enough, your book has made me a better doctor. I work with many nonverbal children with developmental disorders who can't just tell you what they want and how they feel. Sometimes facial expressions and other forms of body language are all you have to work with.”
