Posted on March 22, 2021 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

Not familiar with my poker tells work? Here's an introduction. This will be some thoughts about Hellmuth's behavior from a much-discussed hand from a March 2021 High Stakes Poker episode, in which Doug Polk and Hellmuth both flopped straights and Polk folded his lower straight to a big reraise shove from Hellmuth. The tells analysis will use concepts from my book Verbal Poker Tells, which is ...

This is a guest blog post written by Ken Hrankowski, who appeared as the amateur guest player during a few episodes of the TV show Pokerstars’ The Big Game. More poker tells in Rounders (besides KGB’s Oreo)

Posted on May 9, 2012 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

Hi, I'm Zach Elwood, the author of the book Verbal Poker Tells (amongst other poker tells projects). This is my blog.  My email acquaintance Michael Blinder recently wrote to point out something very awesome in the movie Rounders. Both Teddy KGB and Mike McDermott (Matt Damon’s character) exhibit a few poker tells besides the infamous Oreo cookie one. Both of them exhibit a kind of poker tell I ...

Posted on May 9, 2010 by Zachary Elwood — Get a free poker tells course here

Did well again this week in the $100 multi-table tournament I play in occasionally. Split it 3 ways even between myself and two women who play pretty well. One specific read played a big part in one of the plays I made. The first important pot I got into was when the blinds were 200-400. I've got about 20,000, and I'm 2nd chip leader at our table. This young guy who introduces himself to people as ...

“Interestingly enough, your book has made me a better doctor. I work with many nonverbal children with developmental disorders who can't just tell you what they want and how they feel. Sometimes facial expressions and other forms of body language are all you have to work with.”
           - James Miles, M.D.
